May 19th, 2010, our voice over IP services (digital telephone) will go through some changes. The following changes will be implemented. Customers should not have to do anything other than set their voice mail back up.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS ONLY AFFECTS RESIDENTIAL TELEPHONE SERVICE AND NOT BUSINESS CLASS TELEPHONE SERVICE- Call Block - *15 option to block the last # that called you is no longer available, but feature can still be set via the web portal
- Call Forward Always - Gain ability to turn feature on/off via the web portal
- Call Forward Busy Line (CFBL) - New feature - When activated, CFBL forwards calls when a busy condition is detected
- Call Forward Don’t Answer (CFDA) - New feature – When activated, CFDA forwards calls when number is not answered within a specified number of rings
- Call Forward Not Reachable - New feature – When activated, this feature forwards calls when the phone is offline or unavailable
- Call Waiting - Gain ability to turn feature on (*56) or off (*57) via a star command
- Outbound Caller ID Block - Gain ability to turn feature permanently on/off (versus on a per call basis)
- Speed Dial - Existing 1 digit speed dial numbers will be converted to 2 digit speed dial numbers
- Voicemail - All customer voicemail boxes will be reset. Also, customers can check messages remotely by dialing their telephone number (versus an 800 number)
The following is information on how to reset your voicemail
AFTER the changes have been made on May 19, 2010:
Reset Voicemail InstructionsVoicemail Set Up:
- Dial '*98' from your phone.
- When prompted, enter your temporary passcode '0000' followed by the '#' key
- You will receive a message telling you the passcode has expired, and prompting you to enter a permanent passcode followed by the '#' key
- Once you have entered the permanent passcode and pressed '#', you will receive a validation prompt asking you to re-enter your code and press '#'
- Follow the rest of the prompts to record your name and greetings
To Access Voicemail:
- From Home/Business: Dial '*98' from your phone and you will receive a prompt to enter your passcode followed by the '#' key
- Remotely: Dial your phone number and wait for your voicemail message to answer. At the point you hear the message, press '*' and you will then receive a prompt to enter your passcode followed by the '#' key
